Pre-season Training 2018/19

Pre-season training kicks off on Monday 6 August 2018.

Attire – Blue/black shorts or pants. St Andrews training top or white cricket top.

Warm-up  Arrive 6.45pm Monday night for warm up at NISC

Saturday sessions are optional but will be extremely beneficial for player development and readiness for the season.

Training in season will be at Cole Reserve on Tuesday and Thursday starting from 6pm and as best we can concluded by 7:45pm.

Warm up will start at 5:45pm regardless of numbers. If you arrive after the warm up it is up to the individual to get themselves ready for training. Requirement is to cover off your matrix and look after your teammates during the session.

Attire:

Blue/black shorts or pants. St Andrews training top or white cricket top.

Warm-up:

  • Warm up together as a group at 5:45pm – no exceptions
  • Keep it simple and get moving. Run a lap together
  • Responsibility of the individual to be ready to go
  • Game of soccer or small ball game

Batting:

  • Min 100 balls per week
  • Nets, throw downs and fielding drills = bat on ball
  • Defend your wicket!
  • What are your 3 shots? How do you get ‘down the other end’?

Bowling:

  • 60/40 load = 60% Tuesday + 40% Thursday – stay fresh for Saturday
  • Min 10 overs per week
  • What are your strengths and role?
  • Learn to do the simple well, bowl one side of the wicket

Fielding:

  • 75 catches per week
  • Drills
  • In pairs or threes
  • Help your teammates and respect them
