We are excited to announce we’ve organised Sonia Gangi from beyondblue to speak at our Ladies Day event.
Sonia is a Registered Nurse working in the Victorian public health sector, with over ten years of nursing experience. Over the last 5 years, she’s been working in Clinical Education as a support nurse for new graduates entering the workforce. She is passionate about teaching, mentoring and nurturing future career professionals as well as advocating for mentally healthy workplaces and lives.
Sonia is a volunteer speaker for beyondblue, a national organisation that works to raise awareness about anxiety and depression, reduce the associated stigma and encourage people to get help.
She became a beyondblue speaker to share her lived experience of anxiety and encourage others to open up the conversation about mental health conditions in their workplace, family and friendship groups. She also strives to promote the importance of self-care in building resilience and aiding recovery.
Sonia’s interests include writing, shopping, dancing and spending quality time with family and friends. She is also planning her wedding, which has become a hobby in itself. A lesser known fact about Sonia is that she really enjoys charity work as it allows her to connect with people from all walks of life. She’s also a Collingwood fan and yes, she has all her teeth!
